More testing with photos, this is the standard format for a post with a direct link to a smugmug hosted photo. This should direct to our smugmug site but still show on this website within our lightbox plugin.
The blacksmithing photo was one I took while we were at the local arts & crafts fair in San Juan Bautista, CA.
This photo is of Sierraville, CA during one of our stops before getting our Christmas tree that year with the rest of our family.

Photos of the Monterey, CA area where we called home for quite a few years. Living and working in the Monterey area was a great place to raise our family and we both have fond memories of our time there. I think I’ll have a few photos here to test how wordpress and photos interact on this blog as we’re very new to wordpress and are still trying to get familiar with the interface.

Every adventure has a beginning and ours just happened to start around 1974. Roughly 40 years as of this writing and we are still experiencing something new everyday. Who would of thought that this guy:
would meet the girl of his dreams?

Fast forward to 2014 and we are both retired, living in a large empty house now that both our son and daughter have moved on and have families of their own. We’ve always wanted to see the rest of the USA and doing it now seemed to be a good idea to travel the roads in an rv.
We would like to keep this blog current to document our travel for family, friends and ourselves. We make no promises to have up to the minute progress reports, though we do intend to at least write about people, places and things we have seen or met.
This first post is just the beginning of our new phase in life, who knows where it will go or when it will end. We have no end date to stop traveling as we will make that decision when we cross that bridge. Our blog will definitely morph and fluctuate as we get a better idea on what to do with a personal blog site. We hope it entertains and informs you as we learn along the way.
